For people with this issue on the Xbox series of consoles, try this:
Go to Battlefield 2042 – manage game and addons – saved data – delete your account’s saved data from “everywhere”.
Next time you launch BF2042 it will act as though it’s the first time launching the game and you will be able to go through the initial setup again (and not enable text to speech).
